Day 2: to Lorrasoana

The world was glinting frosty white as we set off this morning. After yesterday's hills it was bliss to follow gentle wooded paths, and even more bliss to find the perfect breakfast spot (espresso and a chocolate twist!) after less than an hour. Happiness indeed.

The day's walking has been relatively easy, at first through high meadows and later through forest and valley.

Little agriculture to be seen except horses but there are dozens of those, wearing Swiss cowbells and enjoying the spring grass. They're fairly short but heavy and hairy and usually sorrel. I really hope they're destined for something other than the pot.

Update, later: they are indeed destined for the pot (in France). Oh well, they certainly have a nice life right now.
